School Board and SBDM Collaboration

SB 55

As you know, this is an attempt to take decision-making away from the school-level teachers, parents, and principal who know their students and to allow the school board to overturn any council policy or decision. Recently at least one school board has approved a resolution to support SB 55.

Action needed: KASC has provided a sample letter with the goal of setting the tone of mutual respect, support, and collaboration, rather than councils and boards being pitted against each other. Please review the letter and revise it to best fit your situation.

If you are willing to share your letter, KASC would be glad to share it on social media or on our website.
