Open Response Scoring ProcessKASC would like to share an additional resource for understanding the open-response scoring process. Using the KDE annotated released item, we have made one or two-page handouts for each subject area, at each testing level (elementary, middle and high).The handouts provide the released questions, additional scoring information. These handouts show that a "4" answer is a complete and clear answer, and that less complete answers will score below "4".
