Upcoming STLP Regional Events

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is kicking off the 2019-2020 STLP season in November with regional events. The Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) is the Office of Education Technology’s flagship activity that keeps KDE connected to how students and schools are utilizing education technology to learn and demonstrate what they know.

STLP reaches 55,000 students across the Commonwealth and continues to grow. STLP schools are invited to participate in any or all of KDE’s STLP big three events: regionals, digital product online judging and the STLP State Championship April 8 at Rupp Arena in Lexington.

The nine STLP regionals are the start on the #STLPRoad2Rupp. Teams of students bring technology-rich project ideas to regionals to convince the all-volunteer judging corps that their project is deserving of a spot at the STLP State Championship. Interviews also are conducted with students who are interested in joining one of the STLP service teams that will help publicize, record and organize the STLP State Championship.

All STLP regionals kick off at 10 a.m. local time and typically wrap up at noon. The public is welcome to attend and interact with some of Kentucky best and brightest young technological minds.
