Strategies for Cementing the Learning in K-8 Science

Learn strategies you can implement in your classroom as you explore different phenomena and 'cement the learning' for your students.

Come with an idea for a phenomenon that you want students to figure out (or we’ll brainstorm together) and learn how to plan to embed key strategies in the sensemaking sequence to cement the learning. We’ll take a look at high-impact instructional strategies for the science and engineering practices from various sources, examine strategies for vocabulary development, the importance of talk strategies, and students making sense of evidence they collect.  Leave with new strategies in your toolkit and the opportunity to share what works for you with other teachers!
