Analyzing Data and Writing Claims with Evidence February 5 – Hopkinsville Share ideas to break down, evaluate, and summarize data, so your students can make claims and support their thinking with data as evidence. Feel empowered and able to help students use strategies to develop and analyze data tables, charts and graphs.
Planning and Carrying Out Investigations February 4 – Corbin March 9 – Hopkinsville Learn how to help students collaboratively plan and carry out investigations to find answers to their questions. Begin to help students understand what makes a “fair test” and help them plan that with you and investigate with increasing amounts of independence.
Science Notebooking and the Power of Modeling March 10 – Corbin April 15 – Hopkinsville Use student discourse and writing scaffolds to support and help students communicate their ideas as they develop and refine models. Learn how to guide students as they make and write scientific comparisons, support claims with evidence, and develop their skills at scientific illustration and begin to develop models that show their understanding.
