eceive updates on the progress of the KAS for Science review that is curren
tly underway so you can better support your classroom teachers.

local science program data and work through critical elements necessary fo
r local science improvement to develop a plan for implementation at the bui
lding or district level.
- Receive research-based strategies and exam
ples to raise the ceiling of quality in your school or district’s science p
rogram.
- Enhance your confidence in observing and providing feedback
that is purposeful and meaningful to the science classroom teacher and mov
es them toward the vision of the KAS for Science
- Learn to provide f
eedback that supports high quality science instructional practices.
- Develop a network with other administrators who are interested in improvin
g their school or district science program.

om each session in this series and use the materials and resources to immed
iately work with PLCs and groups of teachers to raise the quality of your s

in figuring things out in a way that mimics how scientist work.

div>The Kentucky Academic Standards for Science require a different approac
h to teaching science than has been done in the past. This form of teaching
is often referred to as 3D learning. Teachers need supports in place from
their administrators to make the shifts necessary for all students to achie
ve the kind of thinking required in the KAS.
