Andria Jackson
Dixie Elementary Magnet

After proudly serving Fayette County Public School’s Board of Education for fourteen years, it was only natural that I would find myself running for SBDM at my youngest son’s elementary school within just a few months of my departure. My mission while volunteering is not only to improve outcomes for the two students who live in my household, but also their classmates. Having a vast understanding of the significant role school councils play and the clear need for parent voice, it was without hesitation that I leapt at the opportunity. I have served our neighborhood association, lead an inner-city youth baseball league as Vice President & President. I was named Parent Volunteer of the Year at Carter G. Woodson Academy (2019) and most recently served FCPS’ 3R’s Re-Entry to School Committee. I am also a Commonwealth Institute for Parent Leadership Fellow and an Education Trust Family Fellow (Washington D.C.). As a full-time employee of the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence in the role of Community Engagement Coordinator, my professional and personal passions are aligned for an outstanding parent representative on KASC’s board.

Lauren Mitchell
Woodford County Middle School

Mrs. Mitchell is currently on our school SBDM council and currently serves on the KASC Board. She is active in the Woodford County community. Mrs. Mitchell advocates for students and how to serve them in a public school setting best. She would continue to be an asset to the KASC Board.

Ann Ward
Harrison County High School

As a parent and nurse, I strive to stay in the know and make the best educational choices for my child as I can. The world is experiencing some unknown phenomena making this a crucial time for children and how we as adults react. I only want to strengthen the relationship of parents-school and educate/inform parents on what steps our local school all the way to the state are taking to protect children and still provide an excellent education. I’m excited to have a chance to be nominated and will be dedicated to serving!
