Jason Booher
Pikeville Jr/Sr High School

I am a product of Kentucky Public Schools having attended Hardin County schools for my entire K-12 education before earning my math secondary education degree from the University of Kentucky. The last 24 years I have spent in various schools around Kentucky helping to educate young people. The last 19 years I have been in high school administration and am currently the principal at Pikeville High School, which I helped lead to a Five-Star ranking this past year. We were one of only seven high schools in the state to be named a Five-Star school. There are two main reasons I chose education as my career. One reason was to give back to young people what my teachers and coaches did for me while attending school. Educating kids and pushing them to reach their goals and their dreams is a passion of mine now as well because of them. The second reason is to educate kids about my testimony of surviving our nation's worst drinking and driving crash. I share with them the consequences of drugs and alcohol as well as how to overcome adversity to reach your goals and your dreams. It is for these two reasons, I strive every day to help students avoid their roadblocks to obtaining their goals and dreams. I will work extremely hard in this position to make sure my contribution to the KASC helps schools in the most possible ways which includes helping to keep SBDM committees in our schools. Thank you for your support!!!
