 (including phonics & spelling: word level skills; phonemic segmentation; letter-sound associations; on-set rime knowledge) in the context of an emergent writer’s meaningful attempts to compose written messages by……

  • Using Kid Writing Strategies

  • Developing a writer’s self-monitoring skills

  • Connecting reading & writing through shared reading, word/sound wall, guided reading & conferences

  • Using a metacognitive, problem-solving approach to help writers understand how to record their stories 

  • Applying assessment strategies designed to impact next steps for instruction & document student growth

  • Observing Kid Writing in actual classrooms; 

  • Developing an   Action Research  

Early registration price by May 20:  Individual $275  (after May 20:  $300)
