KASC Seeks education/Training leader

The Kentucky Association of School Councils (KASC), located in Danville, Kentucky, is seeking a motivated person to serve as Education/Training Leader beginning the 2024-25 school year. The applicant must be passionate about education in Kentucky, be a great team member, but also able to work independently.

Criteria:

  • Certified public-school educator
  • Belief in the ability for every student (and adult) to grow and learn
  • Committed to treat all with dignity and respect
  • SBDM experience (preferred) and a true belief in shared decision making (required)
  • Experience facilitating professional learning (preferred)
  • Overall ease with technology; including proficiency in Word, Excel, Google Drive and apps, online meetings, etc. Experience with Adobe In-Design, graphic design software, and social media promotion a plus, but not required

KASC Education/Training Leader ­— Job Description

Job Overview
The Education/Training Leader is tasked with assisting the Executive Director in the operations of the organization. This position oversees the development of training materials, products, tools, and resources that support the mission of KASC.

Responsibilities and Duties
Support and guide KASC members on best practices for teaching and learning, school based decision-making, and overall teamwork.
Contribute to the overall training design and strategy including advertising.
Help determine what workshop sessions KASC will provide based on current trends and knowledge of the customer base.
Recruit, select, and hire new trainers and determine which sessions they are qualified to teach.
Provide training to KASC trainers on new sessions and materials.
Help develop KASC training materials and professional development, from beginning to end including clerical chores and KDE filings.
Oversee the tracking of trainer quality by reviewing evaluations and taking other steps as needed.
Respond to all incoming training emails (within 24 hours) and forward on to others as needed.
Work with members and other customers in scheduling SBDM, PD, and other training.
Coordinate arrangements in booking of academies, institutes, and other special training events.
Complete 30-E Forms in compliance with KTRS guidelines.
Maintain training materials by updating, taking inventory, and ordering printing and materials.
Pack and mail materials to trainers and/or schools in advance of training sessions.
Other duties as needed.
